All Panasonic Toughbook® computers come with the industry’s most comprehensive standard 3-year limited warranty. As part of its total mobile computing solution, Panasonic also offers several extended warranty options designed to suit the specific needs of Toughbook owners. All warranty repairs use genuine Panasonic parts and are performed at Panasonic’s National Service Center for fast, thorough and consistent care.
Extended Battery Warranty
Extend the standard 1-year warranty that comes with every Toughbook battery up to five years. Covered batteries that drop below 50% capacity under normal use will be replaced and shipped at no additional charge within the United States.
Since batteries are critical to the operation of Toughbook® mobile computers, Panasonic offers an extended battery warranty that provides coverage on batteries for up to five years - that is four years beyond the 1-year standard limited warranty that comes with all Toughbook batteries. This can conveniently align the battery’s warranty with the computer’s warranty, providing coverage for both over the same period of time. It can also help reduce the costs and effort involved in replacing out-of-warranty batteries.
An organization can select extended coverage plans for a period of two, three or four years. With this warranty, the user will receive a replacement battery when they call Panasonic Technical Support and it is determined that the battery’s capacity has dropped below 50%. Extended Warranty
An extended warranty provides Toughbook mobile computers with (up to) an additional two years of standard warranty coverage. All Panasonic Toughbook laptops come with a standard 3-year limited warranty. The extended warranty expands coverage under the terms for up to five years with the same renowned T-Force service.
Panasonic’s Extended Warranty Service provides Toughbook® mobile computers with (up to) an additional two years of standard warranty coverage beyond the standard 3-year limited warranty that comes with all Toughbook computers. This means up to five years of warranty coverage from the date of purchase. An extended warranty makes sense when purchasing computers for a deployment that is expected to last longer than three years.
The extended warranty program covers all the same repairs in the same manner as the standard warranty, but for one or two years more, depending on the plan selected. Coverage is for failures due to defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal use. All system components are covered under the extended warranty, except consumable items. If a Toughbook laptop is accidentally damaged, the user calls Panasonic Technical Support at 1-800-LAPTOP5. A Panasonic T-Force team member works with the user to assess the damage and arranges for repair of the unit of a replacement part at no charge within the United States. Hard Drive Warranty
Panasonic’s Hard Drive Warranty allows organizations to maintain possession of a hard drive while Panasonic sends a replacement drive or when a computer needs to be sent for repair. By eliminating the requirement to return hard drives, this warranty enables companies to maintain on-site security for their private data.
Allowing organizations to keep hard drives while awaiting replacements or when computers are at the National Service Center for repair, Panasonic’s Hard Drive Warranty helps companies maintain security by keeping sensitive data on location. With Panasonic’s Standard Warranty, all Toughbook computers are included in the Priority Exchange Program. The program streamlines the repair process by providing user-replaceable parts quickly; however, under the standard Priority Exchange program, users are required to return the replaced part.
Benefits include:
- Ensuring the security of sensitive data at an organization’s location by not having to return the hard drive.
- Simplifying the technical support process for organizations when a replacement hard drive is needed.
- Reduction of administrative costs associated with getting hard drive replacements to users.
This warranty allows each user to receive one hard drive per year or up to 5% of an organization’s total number of mobile computer failures per year that are covered under the warranty. If the number of replaced hard drives exceeds 5%, Panasonic reserves the right to send a Technical Field Manager to an organization to investigate and identify failure issues. Protection Plus
Protection Plus enhances the Toughbook mobile computer standard 3-year limited warranty with an additional layer of protection against accidental physical damage. Protection Plus complements all other Toughbook warranties and covers only system components, excluding consumable items.
Protection Plus provides an added layer of coverage against accidental physical damage that occurs during regular use of a Toughbook® mobile computer. Accidental damage is not covered by the Panasonic standard limited warranty or extended warranty, but is covered by Protection Plus. This supplemental coverage can reduce the inconvenience and expense of repairs necessitated by accidental damage. It can also enhance the productivity of the mobile workforce, increasing uptime.
All system components, except consumable items, are covered by Protection Plus. Consumable items include: battery, screen protection sheet and stylus. The program covers up to one major failure per unit, per year for the LCD screen, keyboard, hard drive and motherboard. Other components have even better coverage. When necessary, Panasonic will repair or replace the unit with a model of equal or greater value.
